Gifts made to the Harriett Rostoff Family Fund help to continue the battle against food insecurity, a barrier that often makes a difference in a family’s ability to provide a permanent and supportive home for a child.
Harriett Rostoff grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, and spent 58 loving years with her husband, David. Together they raised their two daughters and created a home filled with enormous love where all their daughters’ friends were welcomed and considered it their second home. From her humble beginnings, Harriett was a vibrant, compassionate, charitable woman who lit up any room with her smile and positive energy. She had a passion for supporting people who grew up less fortunate than she did and was particularly focused on children and families without enough food. She became committed to raising awareness around food insecurity, specifically for young people in the foster care system.
Ensuring families had fresh and healthy meals was her passion. She truly was a woman of valor. Upon Harriett’s passing in May 2023, her family established a Memorial Fund at Plummer Youth Promise. This fund aims to ensure that the young people (and the dedicated people caring for them) at Plummer Youth Promise always have access to nutritious meals.
